CASH PLANNING
Maryland's sales total is not your cash drawer
Maryland · sales, cash, MCA · 2026-10-28
A statewide sales figure tells you the market is real. It does not tell you how many customers at your counter will want cash.
The figure we will cite
The MCA briefing dated January 27, 2026 reported $1.17 billion in adult-use and medical sales in 2025, about $2.86 billion cumulative to that point, and an estimated $97 million in sales tax revenue in the same snapshot. It also counted 109 operating dispensaries among 187 operating cannabis businesses.
These pages do not repeat later monthly totals from secondary sites. If you need a month after January 2026, use the MCA data dashboard and read the label on that file.
What that means for an ATM
We do not have an MCA statistic for the share of purchases made in cash. Dispensary operators still plan for customers who need cash before they pay. Full-service placement, for a qualifying location, puts company-supplied cash in the ATM.
That program does not replace your bank account or your compliance advice. U.S. Payments is not a bank. Call 973-452-4131 to talk about the machine.
Questions from dispensary operators
Is a full-year 2026 Maryland sales total on this site?
No. The total here is the 2025 figure from the January 27, 2026 briefing. Use the MCA data dashboard for a later month.
